Luke 12:49-53 tells us that Jesus was to bring division instead of peace. It seems off-putting that we would offer a program named, “Divided.” Jesus begins the Gospel saying, “I have come to set the earth on fire, and how I wish it were already blazing.” Translating too, the love we have for God is like a fire burning deep in our hearts and we must be baptized in that fire to be disciples on that mission of spreading the good news. In that process, we realize that there will be division in our peer groups, work, church and school. But if we follow Christ (through division) we can experience eternal unity in Heaven. – Divided est. 2019

Harvest of Hope Service Retreat
With the cancellation of the summer mission trips and previous scheduled retreats we have decided to move forward with our Harvest of Hope Service Retreat starting Monday August 10th to Thursday August 13th. We feel this is a great opportunity for young people to safely serve within the communities in which we live. This event is for all students in 7th grade (going into) up to our graduated seniors (12th grade). This event will primarily take place at St. Benedict’s Parish Center with service sites within the Harvest of Hope community along with evening activities off campus (St. John’s University, City of Avon, etc.). Our days will begin at 8:00 AM (students will be expected to eat breakfast prior to arriving along with bringing a packed lunch) in the Church and will conclude at 10:00 PM. Cost of this event will be $100 per student and will cover transportation, dinner, evening activities and supplies.
We are looking for adult chaperones to assist with driving, discussions and fellowship. Please contact Jason Prigge or Toni Hudock to help out. Chaperones must be 21+ years old and be safe environment trained.
